Dancing in my kitchen - limited edition SOLD OUT!
I've been so overwhelmed by the amazing support and positive messages I have received since launching my book last week. And yes I did do a dance in my kitchen when my first batch of books sold out. So many friends both old and new have contacted me, some of whom I haven't seen or spoken to for a while who loved the story and wanted to pre-order a book. As an author (I do love saying that) the best feeling is reaching people you don't know as then you get an additional boost knowing your story really stands out to them and makes an impact. It is the best feeling in the world when you know that other children will read Flossy, Frank and Eddy's story and be able to enjoy and connect with their journey in becoming a family. My dream for Eddy Finds a Family is for it to reach many children so they are able to learn and understand adoption and I'm really passionate about making sure it is seen as a story book for all children. When you first have that thought of writing a book, you're never quite sure how the big wide world will react. You go through a rollercoaster of emotions. At first you enjoy the experience of writing and character building. You think its a great idea. Then you hesitate, doubt yourself and even delete everything and start again as you just think you're writing waffle and no one will like it. I often thought what may be a very special book to me may not have the same reaction to others. I love that my creativity has been sparked again and am proud of everything I have created with with my wonderful illustrator Stephanie Lidbetter. We have worked hard and I really can't wait for the day when everyone receives their copy. Thank you xx
